Practical, focused coaching.

Coaching with me is practical and focused. We spend time on the specific skills that are making things harder than they need to be — emotional regulation, communication, task management, organization, and staying grounded.

We figure out what is getting in the way, and we work on it together, one session at a time. There is no rigid curriculum. The work shapes itself around what you actually need.

This is not therapy, and it is not a motivational program. I do not provide diagnosis, treatment, or crisis support. If what you are dealing with calls for a licensed mental health professional, I will be honest with you about that and encourage you to find the right kind of help. What I offer is best for someone who is functional but struggling, who has a goal that they need help getting to, who wants to improve their communication skills, and who wants to build real, lasting skills for managing everyday life more effectively.

How the work unfolds

What we do in a session

01

We get clear on what's actually happening

Most people think the issue is motivation or discipline, but that's usually not the case.

When things feel too big, complex, or overwhelming, we tend to avoid them and never make any progress.

Together, we'll slow things down and make sense of what's getting in the way.

02

We break things down into something doable

When we try to get everything done at once, we can't get anything done.

Breaking every process down into smaller tasks turns one seemingly insurmountable thing into several manageable smaller ones.

03

We build steadiness into the process

When we get stressed, our body reacts before we've had time to reflect on our emotions and decide on the best action.

We use simple grounding and pacing tools based on DBT-style tools (dialectical behavioral therapy) so you can think clearly and move steadily.

04

We work on communication and boundaries

Being clear and direct is the most important part of communicating effectively.

Sometimes we have trouble putting what we want into words that others can understand. Sometimes we find the right words, but our emotions get in the way of their delivery.

If you shut down, avoid conflict, or lose yourself trying to keep the peace, we can work together to help guide you through those tough conversations.

05

We create systems that actually fit you

It's a cliché, but “one size” NEVER “fits all.”

I don't have a special system or rigid set of routines. There aren't “ten simple things you need to learn” or an “easy guide to success.”

I do have tools to offer you, but how you apply them will be unique to you — your “toolkit” will be your own.

06

We troubleshoot whatever's getting in the way

Avoidance, overthinking, freezing, losing momentum — whatever shows up, we deal with it directly.

You don't have to hide anything or pretend you're fine.

07

We build accountability that feels supportive, not stressful

Accountability is about clarity, not pressure.

You're not “reporting” to me, but sharing your progress as you work toward your goals.

A note on DBT

I am not a therapist and, as such, I do not administer or claim to administer DBT. I do, however, use many skills and methods based on DBT-style tools and workshops that are appropriate for use within life coaching or non-clinical settings.

The free discovery call

Before any of this starts, I offer a free 20-minute discovery call. This is not a sales call. It is a conversation, a chance for you to ask questions, describe what is going on, and get a sense of whether working together actually makes sense. I will be honest with you if I think something else would serve you better. If it feels like a fit, we'll figure out next steps from there.
